Masterclass: Documentary "The Territory"
Multiple award-winning National Geographic Documentary Film with Koembu Uru-eu-wau-wau September 9th, 2022, The film provides an immersive on-the-ground look athe tireless fight of the Indigenous Uru-eu-wau-wau people against the encroaching deforestation brought by farmers and illegal settlers in the Brazilian Amazon.
Koembu is coming from Brazil to bring a personal message from the community. During his European visit, Koembu will also speak in Brussels, where the film is being shown to policymakers connected to the upcoming European parliament debate and vote on a proposed regulation on deforestation-free products.
The Territory" is a dynamic co-creation between director Alex Pritz and the Brazilian #Indigenous Uru-eu-wau-wau people. With awe-inspiring cinematography showcasing the titular landscape and richly textured sound design, the film takes audiences deep into the Uru-eu-wau-wau community and provides unprecedented access to the farmers and settlers illegally burning and cleaning protected Indigenous land.
